Digitalisation of Drenova heritage

document archives

After the “migration” of the Future regional museum Drenove at the address of Drenovski put 138a, which came with the support of the city of Rijeka and the local committee of Drenova, who recognized the general social benefit of such a plea of the members of the Heritage society “Without Borders”, This is the greatest novelty ever in the work of museum on Drenovi. The two employees, initially volunteers in the “No Borders” association, are now formally employed for six months in the association, i.e. in the museum, all through a public works programme which seeks to encourage the employment of long-term unemployed persons, Local communities and associations are implemented by the Croatian Employment Service-Regional Office Rijeka
Digitalization of historical documents

Namely, the Society of heritage worshippers “Without Borders” was developed by the program “digitalization of historical documents from Drenova” which wants to ensure the scanning and storage of all available old drainage documents, specifically here about 5500 documents of folk Classroom Drenova of 1853. This is our year. The documents were obtained on loan courtesy of Fran Franković Elementary School. With the digitisation programme, the association emerged before the Croatian Employment Service-Regional Office Rijeka and before the Department of city government and administration of the city of Rijeka, where the program was evaluated very positively. The Department of City and Administration became a partner in the project, the initiator of public works, while the society “Without Borders” was a contractor, so the program was sent to the Croatian Employment service to the final grade. The programme is accepted by the CES, which means that the Croatian Employment service in almost 100% of the volume provides funds for the benefits of two employees who will provide the “drive ” Museum for the next six months.

This is the best way to prove that a good idea can “push through” to its realization! In addition to the specific work about digitization of existing ones-and hopefully future-materials of historical value, this kind of employment of two employees enables the museum, initially conceived as virtual and concentrated on the Internet Presentation and use, live in a full, “physical ” sense, or open the door to citizens.
