The aim of the project is to continue (phase 3) the arrangement of the courtyard and the environment of the Regional Museum Drenove and to create the preconditions for safer and better performance of leisure activities and programs of all ages in the surroundings of the Museum. In fact, during this year's activities, it was found that it was necessary to provide another entrance/exit to the courtyard so that in case of need (the performance of performances and film screenings) one could also enter from the "back side" of the stage and the cinema screen in order to prevent interference with the programme by late viewers. An alternative exit is also necessary for security reasons.
The stone steps at the entrance to the Museum building also need to be rehabilitated – they have completely collapsed, which is dangerous for visitors.
Furthermore, since there is valuable equipment in the building and the yard (meteo station, computer and cinema equipment, archives, etc.), it is necessary to install adequate protection in the form of a wire fence around the building and the introduction of a video surveillance system for the entire building. Associations Without Borders and Dren actively participate in several international projects in the context of ECOC2020 (27 neighbourhoods, PassItOn, ČAI), which significantly increases the use of space, increases the amount of valuable equipment (our and our guests) and therefore an increase in the level of protection is inevitable.
The building is located on k.č.2595, k.o. Drenova. It was built after the Treaty of Rapallo (12 November 1920) for the needs of the border crossing (and customs) between the then states of the Kingdom of Italy (which built the building) and the Kingdom of SHS. Consequently, the building is “legal” because it was built undoubtedly before 15 February 1968. It is micro-located along the main road Rijeka-road-Saršoni. The courtyard of the building is located east of the building and is not “visible” from the road.
In the northeastern part of the yard there is a smaller auxiliary building measuring about 3×3 m with a flat AB board. It is used as an external storage. The yard is bordered by a combination of concrete wall with stone, roughly carved blocks (wall about 60cm thick). The total length of the fence walls around the building is 40 m.
The bill of quantities and the textual part of the project show the construction of a 1.25 m high wire fence. The rehabilitation of stairs is also described, as well as the realization of an alternative (second entrance to the yard). The project specifies guidelines on working methods, materials and subgroups of construction and craft works, as well as the display of quantities.
