Campus and stockings love each other

4 March 2020  in the neighborhood of the University Campus on the occasion of their Festival, and in cooperation with the Drenova neighbourhood, a quiz was held “In search of the super fruit of our region - forgotten drainage”.

Mixed marmalades called “Drenjula i društvo” are specially prepared as a reward for the winners of the quiz.

Thus continued the cooperation between the Department of Biotechnology of the University of Rijeka and the Dren Association, which has proven in the previous scientific research that it drained SUPER FRUIT.

Conversations about old widows

“Neighborhood Kastav” organized on 15 February the meeting of Neighborhoods, ECoC Rijeka 2020 through the “Living Room” program in the romantic space of Idičina peknjica.”

Numerous customs connect us with common "root", speech and commemorations, but we still differ in this, it is OUR REAL FOUNDATION", the hosts said.

The transfer of knowledge about individual užanci and the almost forgotten details of these užanci to the given topics will be recorded by audio-video recording, based on the presentation of the representatives of the neighborhoods.

An "audio-video dictionary" will be created, which will be the basis for the processes of preserving the Chakavian language and customs of our region, the educational process and possible scientific papers and research.

This document will be a permanent trace of the richness of the heritage of our region- Chakavian Speech and Traditions.

“Neighborhood Drenova” was represented by Silvana Šuperina and Dinko Mavrinac, who have been active for years in preserving a tradition that is slowly disappearing.

They spoke at the Drenovska Čakavica about the former burgundy customs and what has been preserved from the customs, above all on Gornja Drenova.

Networking event – 1st rounding of the TECH year – Rijeka 2019

A small team from Drenova presented our CHAI project to the tech community of our city - which is very much alive - to be unbelievable ⁇

• bring together the TECH community at the end of the year (approximately 100 participants)
• present the most important projects that contributed to the progress of the TECH community in Rijeka and its surroundings
• thank organizations, companies and individuals and mention events in neighboring counties, but also what we consider to be the most important in the Croatian TECH community and the world
• organize a raffle for all participants! ⁇

Visit of the Association 051 to our museum

051 on Drenova

On Saturday, November 30, 2019, we were visited by members of Rijeka Association 051, under the programme Daily staysk,  the Programming Route 27 Neighborhoods.

We presented our past and present projects, as well as the current exhibition Delete things that are coming. At 7 p.m. we watched a documentary together. Drunk Street.

The guests watched with interest everything we presented to them, which is not unusual for them because Association 051 For many years he has been engaged in collecting historical material, photographs, documents, but also stories and memories about our city and its surroundings. There are a lot of common topics that are dealt with by our associations. We cooperated in 2016 at the Museum Night when we presented some of the members' exhibits Association 051. These were pieces of military equipment and ammunition from World War II. We are also in the Proceedings published a short story by Vladimir Tonić, a member of this association. The story took place at Drenova, Veli vrh, but also at the address of our Heritage Museum, which at the time the story describes was an Italian customs office.

A pleasant evening with dear guests ended in a conversation with the author of the screened film Drunken Street, Marin Lukanović.

They promised to visit us again.

Children from Kindergarten Viškovo visit our museum

Children from Viškovo kindergarten

Organized by the Dren Association, we received a group of children from the Viškovo Kindergarten with their aunts.

Aunt Vesna from the association honored them with her jerky jam and told them the story of the drain.

The children listened very carefully, enjoyed the jam and curiously looked at the exhibits.

They liked the old double bass the most – the “big guitar” and were happy to pose in front of the ECoC 2020 poster.

Students of Primary School Fran Franković Visits the Heritage Museum

Students O.S. Fran Franković visiting the Heritage Museum – they visited our museum on 27 September, the day of the 170th birth anniversary Fran Franković.

What were we doing?

Students of the third and fourth grades of our Drenova school were introduced to the importance of Fran Franković and his Beginner both for Drenova and for the entire Croatian promotion.

They told them what the family tree is (although most of them already know it!) and showed them the example of the family tree by Fran Franković.

The most interesting part for the students was the part where, in addition to an interesting demonstration on the computer, they were shown the possibility and power of artificial intelligence.

Move theatre on the border: Wanda's small workshop

On Wednesday, September 18, from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m., in cooperation with the Rijeka City Puppet Theatre, Wanda and the felt toy workshop will come to our creative corner! The workshop will take place in the courtyard of our museum, and registrations are mandatory by sending a message to this page or by sending an e-mail to vesna.lukanovic@gmail.com.

The focus of the workshop is creativity and children are directed towards unrestrained creative art expression and design. The main medium of creative expression in this workshop is industrial felt of various colors. The topic of felt shaping is related to the play Wanda LaVanda and her main character, the sheep Wanda. With expert guidance, the participants of this workshop will get acquainted with the art material – industrial felt and its possibilities of shaping, cutting, filling, sewing, gluing.

Participants can engage in an interesting way and thus express their needs and abilities. Through active participation in the workshop, each child develops and encourages teamwork, establishes dialogue, active listening and exchange of experiences. Creative expression with the use of art techniques of felt shaping allows each child to successfully develop their potentials in accordance with their abilities.

The programme is implemented by the association “Dren” with the support of the City of Rijeka through the “Mići teatar naborder” project through public needs in culture.

The dolls took off on the Drenova

They didn't even exist yesterday, and the new dolls already took off last night!

It all started at 6 p.m. in the courtyard of the Drenova Landscape Museum. 11 pairs of valuable hands were put to work and with a little help from parents and puppeteers from the Rijeka City Puppet Theatre, they recycled cloths, bottles, cardboard, buttons, ribbons, socks and other materials. Result: original dolls according to the ideas and wishes of 11 small authors.

It was interesting how many of the dolls had a common trait – they could fly! From transformers to unicorns, penguins to peculiar beakers, the children gladly added wings to them.

And those dolls that didn't have wings and they took off tonight in their dreams and like real superheroes they slid down our slide.

Thank you to all the girls and boys, parents, puppeteers and organizers from the Dren Association and from the Tobogan Rijeka 2020 festival who helped make Reci puppet! succeed.

We are sure that children and parents will translate the acquired knowledge and inspiration into new projects of making dolls and spread this virus throughout Rijeka's neighbourhoods.

Until the next meeting, we want you and your dolls to be a healthy kot dren!
